Colorado Open Enrollment
As a part of the Colorado Open Enrollment, HumanaOne will accept child only applications (children age 18 or younger) for consumers residing in Colorado each year from August 1st though August 31st. Thereafter, Colorado Open Enrollment will be available each January 1 and July 1 for 30 days. A completed application, with health history information is needed for all applicants.
There are specific qualifying events that will qualify a child (18 or younger) for a child only policy year round. You have 30 days after a qualifying event to request enrollment. Please call us at (866) 620-8966 to enroll in a child only policy outside of open enrollment periods outlined above.
Qualifying event includes:
- Child's loss of coverage because coverage under a COBRA continuation provision was exhausted; or
- Child's loss of coverage as a result of loss of eligibility for the existing coverage based on:
- Dissolution of marriage;
- Loss of employer-sponsored insurance;
- Loss of eligibility under Colorado Medicaid;
- Loss of eligibility under the Children's Basic Health plan; or
- Involuntary loss of other existing coverage for any reason other than fraud, misrepresentation or failure to pay premium; or
- Acquisition of a new dependent under age 19 through birth, adoption or marriage; or
- Entry of a valid court or administrative order mandating the child is covered.
