Hospital Cash Plan

Protect your savings from unexpected expenses

Your hard-earned savings could be at risk because of an accident or illness you have no way of predicting or preventing. HumanaOne's Hospital Cash Plan is insurance that pays cash to you, or your designee, when you're sick or injured and need medical attention.

Why choose Hospital Cash Plan?

This hospital insurance offers several advantages:

  • Help with healthcare costs - Even if you already have insurance, this plan pays you cash for emergency room treatment for accidental injury or sickness. It also pays benefits for hospital confinement and outpatient surgery
  • Optional benefit offers additional coverage – An optional daily benefit rider is available if you want additional coverage for hospital and intensive care unit (ICU) confinement. For more information, see Plan Details

How Hospital Cash Plan works

This plan provides lump-sum cash payments to use as you choose. For example, you can use the cash to help pay for things your other insurance plans may not cover like:

  • Copayments and deductibles
  • Transportation expenses
  • Help with childcare while you recover

The lump-sum benefit for hospital confinement ranges from $250 to $2,000. For more information about our hospital insurance plan benefits, see Plan Details.

Waiting periods apply to certain conditions; see policy form for details. The benefits and riders offered are supplemental and not intended to cover all medical expenses. Please see actual policy for complete details.

Bev's Story

story image "If I get sick, I want to count on my family for emotional support – not financial support."

"I've saved all my life so I could have a comfortable retirement. But then I started thinking about my health. I have health insurance, but I know it doesn't cover everything. What would happen if I have an accident or need surgery? Could I afford to pay for a long hospital stay?

"That's why I bought the Hospital Cash Plan. If something should happen, I'll have the cash I need on hand. I won’t have to dip into my savings – and I won't have to rely on my family."

Bev's story is a fictional example meant to illustrate the value of the Hospital Cash Plan. Actual premiums vary depending on the coverage amount selected.
